Artwork Appreciation
In TUNG Ming-Chin’s Space Form, three identically shaped box-like objects are placed in a row, the contrast between them forming an intriguing spatial relationship.
The three sculptures are made, from left to right, of crude steel rods, smooth solid wood, and hard, shiny stainless steel, highlighting the properties of these different media.
By contrasting materials and structures, Tung seeks the unifying relationships between the objects, creating an interpretive perspective of his own.
