Artwork Appreciation
LIN Yi-Hsuan is good at creating works that most have everyday experiences within a journey of life. By taking ordinary contemplations as a reflection of serene inner thoughts, he anticipates emotional resonance amongst the viewers. Where Are You? has zoomed hanging clothes in a spacious scene from micro viewpoints, while paper planes tempt to be the visual focus where they might fly around these clothes. The motivation of this work comes from a child's experience of looking for the father, where the black shirt symbolizes the father being busy with routines, leaving early but returning late. However, the expectation for the father is neglected, just as these airplanes gliding forth and back but still failing to find his present, where he should have been.
