Artwork Appreciation
YEH Hua's creation conveys her conceptual and philosophical thinking about "space". In the work, Glass House Series-5, the glass house is presented in a semi-transparent state that is isolated from its exterior. From inside the house, the scenery outside can be vaguely seen, though it is not clear. The items left on the table seem to imply that people once existed in this space, conveying a dubious message. YEH Hua regards human memory and consciousness as a special time and space that hide unknown emotions. Through imagery, this psychological space is reproduced, metaphorizing the memory between people and time as well as private memory through the overlapping and misplaced multi-dimensional space.
