在資訊飽和、數碼流竄、感官高度動員的時代，生活被演算法與大量雜訊切割得支離破碎。在不斷加速的日常裡，「凝視」的經驗遂顯得愈來愈珍貴。

藝術之所以在這個時代仍然不可或缺，正是因為它讓我們得以在專注與靜定的空隙中暫時安身，將發散的「自我」收攏，重新掌握「感知」的重量。

藝術創作者往往是整個社會最敏感的神經末梢。他們以獨特的視角描摹焦慮、疏離、渴望、記憶與救贖，作品既是自我的投射，也是時代精神的造像。一幅畫、一件裝置、一首歌，都是時空感知的切片。

視覺藝術若是「空間的凝視」，歌詞便是「時間的敘事」──台灣獨立音樂的歌詞，尤其飽含涵攝時代、直指人心的穿透力。

策劃這一次視覺藝術與台灣獨立音樂歌詞的「互文」，便是希望在藝術銀行典藏的台灣當代藝術作品與獨立音樂創作之間，搭起紙頁上的對話空間。從觀看到聆聽，靜默的作品有了聲音，流動的歌也找到了棲息的新居。

這十組選件的關鍵詞，是「時代感」。歌詞與藝術作品的關係，並不是相互註解，而是希望能以並置的形式，讓文字與視覺疊加、撞擊出更廣闊的聯想，探詢更深沉的記憶與情感。

那便是我們眼中的時代風景，也是耳中的回音。

Curatorial Preface to the Exhibition on the Page
— An Intertextual Experiment between Visual Art and Taiwanese Indie Music Lyrics

In an age of information saturation, digital overflow, and relentlessly activated senses, everyday life is fractured by algorithms and incessant noise. As our daily rhythms accelerate without pause, the experience of gazing—of sustained, attentive looking—becomes ever more precious.

Art remains indispensable in such a time precisely because it offers us a temporary place of refuge: a pause for concentration and stillness in which the scattered self may be gathered again, and the weight of perception reclaimed.

Artists are often the most sensitive nerve endings of society. Through singular perspectives, they give form to anxiety, alienation, longing, memory, and redemption. Their works are at once projections of the self and embodiments of the spirit of the age. A painting, an installation, a song—each is a carefully framed slice of perceived, lived time and space.

If visual art may be understood as a gaze upon space, then lyrics are a narrative of time. The lyrics of Taiwanese independent music, in particular, possess a penetrating force that captures their era while speaking directly to the human heart.

This intertextual experiment between visual art and Taiwanese indie music lyrics seeks to create, on the printed page, a space of dialogue between contemporary artworks from the Art Bank Taiwan collection and independent music compositions. Moving from seeing to listening, silent works acquire a voice, while flowing songs find a new place to dwell.

The ten selected pairings are united by a shared concern with the sense of the times. Rather than serving as mutual annotations, the lyrics and artworks are placed side by side so that text and image may overlap and collide—opening wider fields of association and probing deeper layers of memory and emotion.

These, then, are the landscapes of our time as we see them—and the echoes as we hear them.
