HUANG Kun-Po focuses largely on western painting, with most of his work being still life and portraits prints and oil paintings. His works are known for its meticulous attention to detail and realism. The accurately depicted physical objects hide underlying spiritual aesthetics and metaphorical connotations. HUANG Kun-Po’s artistic studies represent an adventure for the discovery of his personal emotions and experiences that trace back to the very basic elements of human nature. In The Portrait of Flowers Series III, HUANG Kun-Po used classical still life composition, gentle colors, and meticulous brushstrokes to illustrate an inanimate subject matter placed upon a table, creating an image that communicates an atmosphere of purity, spirituality, and physical beauty that complements the gracefulness of Zen aesthetics.
