Artist Muran’s printmaking technique is exquisite and highly recognizable. In his works, those seemingly familiar scenes exude a charm that transcends time and space, blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination, and creating a unique dreamlike style. The work Untitled is one of his “Four Seasons” series produced in 2023. Although it represents “spring,” it does not deliberately depict the plants of this season but instead expresses it with the colors of spring. Muran is accustomed to making simple sketches first and usually does not make color plans in advance. He marks the positions of several specific images in the picture, such as the rabbit with its ears exposed. As for the green plants, they are created at the moment of carving. Spring impresses him as an always rainy season, so the picture uses fine threads and small dots to present misty water vapor, creating a rainy atmosphere.
