Artist Muran, who loves architecture and interior design, describes “creating” as his daily life. In this reductive cutting print, Spring God, he depicted all of his beautiful imagination of a “porch.” The composition is full of interesting detail, including two cats fighting outside the window, miniature furniture hidden in low indoor cabinets, and so on, so that both indoor and outdoor scenery are brought into the scene. He does not deliberately pursue realistic representation when creating, but focuses more on the “painting” itself. Therefore, during the creative process, he often changes his sketches based on sudden inspiration on the color design or adjustments to objects’ appearance. For the leaves in the painting, he did not deliberately strive for realism, but added his own imagination, and especially left the traces of woodcut. With each cut of the chisel, Muran puts his aspirations and interest into his work and shows his contentment with life.
