This joyful work, National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, depicts an absurd scene. Artist Li Yan Wei heard a story about a group of people went to the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium in Pingtung, but after taking illegal drugs they were unable to drive, leaving them stranded in the parking lot as they waited for friends to come rescue them. Intrigued, he drew a painting of the imaginary scene. The centerpiece of the work is the fountain with whale sculptures in front of the museum, where numerous miniature figures are also playing in the water. Some wear sunglasses, ready to run into the water, while others have their heads replaced with small flowers. These figures were inspired by the characters in Haruki Murakami's novel 1Q84, which appear at the intersection of yin and yang. Other vehicles featured in the painting include a tour bus, a small car, and even animals. The vibrant colors and charming shapes imbue the work with a magical quality.
