The colorful work Pilgrimage before you seems to be an abstract scene, but it was originally derived from a real-life event. Artist Li Yan-Wei accidentally discovered this beautiful scene while watching a short video on his mobile phone, which to his mind was exactly an ideal spot. So he immediately took a screenshot and saved it, then continued to extend his imagination and finally created this work. There are many lively, colorful color blocks in this painting, depicting mainly forests and layers of terraced fields; rainbow-colored rain is falling. The artist feels that as one’s mood changes during a pilgrimage, mountains seem to become more and more beautiful and colorful. In the foreground, colorful human figures, looking like silhouettes in a thermal image, emit a special light, symbolizing that they are meditating on the pilgrimage, surrendering to nature, and thus in a state of happiness. Through the vibrant color in the painting, the artist hopes to convey this sense of joy. Can you feel it?
