作品賞析
The work Untitled XIII by artist Niu Chun-Chiang originates from his exploration of faith and life. He hopes to express the abstract feelings about faith through the invisible emotional resonance in the artistic experience, and promote the understanding of divinity. Divinity for him is not about belief in specific gods, but about how people feel an invisible connection with non-material existence and try to expand their awareness of themselves and life. He drew the handprint commonly seen in Buddha statues on tracing paper, and then overlapped and folded the tracing paper to form a shape with the lines of an abstraction, then photographed it under gentle sunlight. When the sunlight fell on the translucent trace on paper, the delicate shadows and pure colors blended, making the photographic image full of tranquility, softness, and mystery. With his keen and meticulous intuition, Niu Chun-Chiang uses the interaction between sunlight and materials to present a pure and sacred beauty, thereby exploring the concept of divinity.
