The artist Pan Meng-Yao likes to use free, unrestrained, graffiti-like lines. His work Comfortable, Clear uses different printing methods together, such as acrylic plates, woodblock printing, and paper gravures to create a unique artistic vocabulary. By randomly cutting the boards, the artist ensured that the work presents irregular forms. The Zen-like ink lines in the work are made by using iron sand and adhesive to draw on the plate. Not only does this create a full, thick ink color, but the lines also have a fine, sandpapery texture. Pan Meng-Yao transforms his life experiences into intuitive artistic creative processes, so his own feelings lie concealed in these fingerprint-like images, the lines of which seeming to take on a life of their own. There is also a clear layering of the different kinds of lines, so they flow playfully and rhythmically through harmonious colors without entanglement.
