PAN Meng-Yao believes panel painting is an indirect artistic vocabulary. The malleability of panel art and the freedom offered by painting are combined to create and discover the various curiosities of art creation. Feel Free combines both intaglio and relief printing, generating large color blocks with a wide-range of changing textures. Lines created using iron filings help create a destructive layout that breaks up the integrity of the composition. Graffiti was also used to liberate the artwork from figurative restrictions and unleash random brushstrokes and lines. PAN Meng-Yao’s panel art incorporate both eastern and western atmospheres and philosophies combined using different forms to convey inner emotions.
