作品賞析
For a time during her student days, artist Hsu Wen-Ti lost her creative direction, but she finally drew inspiration from her memories of growing up, and began creating her “R Series.” When she was a child, she often accompanied her mother, a designer, to construction sites, so “interior space” became her creative motif. This triptych uses a sink, wardrobe, and shower stall to imply the various corners of the home, with the square interior spaces symbolizing the frameworks of society or family. She projects the insecurities of her childhood into the composition, so that magma-like red liquid, impastoed in acrylic paint, to erupt from the faucet, shower head, and floors. She sought to create a completely different texture with it, which creates a sense of conflict with the overall depiction of ordinary scenes. The kind of destructiveness shown is a metaphor for the self-liberation of the artist in the process of creation, but at the same time, it corresponds to the depression and contradictions that people may feel in real life.
