WU Yung-Chieh's video work The Incantation of the Little One-Alas!! uses photos from her childhood as materials, and transforms them into innocent and weird shapes, presenting self-images in specific memory segments. In the work, three groups of little people are displayed in three frames at the same time. The transformed people are grinning as if wearing a fake smile mask, and the image appears from complete to dismember over time. WU Yung-Chieh wants to convey modern people's sense of loneliness. The little people reflect the disillusionment and the uncertainty of self-existence. The sound of mumbles is accompanied by repeated images that are like a spell, making fun of people in the real world.
