RAHIC TALIF collects the waste materials on the East Coast of Taiwan and creates the work Memories of the Ocean- Water. He tries to commemorate the aboriginal tribe's ancestors and the people who disappeared in the Pacific Ocean. Those people's faces may be obscured over time, but the relationship between humans and the ocean is always alive and well-preserved. In the work, various colorful plastic pieces are reassembled to present the texture of the ripples and the layered space, as well as the faces hidden in the waves. RAHIC TALIF transforms the waste into artistic creations that transcend materiality, discussing the relationship between people, land and the environment and the reality in the living environment we face.
