In the work, The White Temple Beside the Floodway, he juxtaposes the grotesque mountains in the Western medieval religious paintings with the mountains and stones in the Chinese landscape paintings, making the scene a strange state of brokenness and incompletion. CHEN Li-Ying takes the impact of Eastern and Western culture as the starting point and guides the viewer to explore modern nostalgia, forming an individualistic cultural basis by balancing and blending both cultures in the face of ideological construction of Western education.
