TU Chih-Wei uses changing objects and scenery as subjects for observation to transform the landscaping elements in the painting, creating a "moderninzed daily landscape" that can be viewed in a conventional way while highighting its absurdity. The work, Tie It, transforms the tree that has been forced to have its branches broken or moved in a construction site into a bouquet-like shape. A scenery that used to belong in a city construction site is turned into a classical landscape painting. The tree has been broken up, wrapped and held in place by artificial ropes and industrial fabrics. With the completion of new constructions, the old scenery and memories are also forgotten. TU Chih-Wei uses the bouquet as an imagery to imply the violence acted upon the environment by civil construction.
