WU Bing-Chi’s work, Projection: Grove‧Gloomy Tree, is a series of works focused on natural scenery. She presents two sceneries targeting the woods using photography and post-editing. Even though the black and white color tones are consistent between the two pictures, they form a strong contrast. One is mottled, dark and quiet as the night, while the other has a white background, appearing to be empty and lonely as well. WU Bing-Chi believes that when things come into view, they trigger a series of perceptual experiences formed by interactions within one’s psychological phenomena, which in turn reflects the inherent qualities of oneself. She tries to present the appearance of the observed object with images, integrating with her own state of mind to express her life experience.
