WU Bing-Chi’s Insomnia is a graffiti-like work that offers an extensive interpretation of the mental and physical states of a person inflicted as well as their feelings of irritation. Figurative and abstract methods were employed to depict various scenes, such as a man whose face is turning green and a growing sense of irritation as he stares into the moon, a pair of red eyes unable to fall asleep due to anxiety, a person disturbed by nightmares and spinning a top in an attempt to hypnotize himself, and a person whose head is bound by a mess of black lines, trapped in a sense of helpless panic.
