HUA Chien-Chiang’s gouache paintings often use the humorous style from the comics to propose a mockery for the current events. In the work, Small Circle Series-Group Games, Chorus and Singing, Running Practice, Tiptoe Dance, he draws a variety of characters in a graffiti style. These characters all have different fashionable dresses, but their bodies are falling to the ground, as if they are going around in circles and overlapping each other. Some bodies are like flat silhouettes, while others are hidden in the background, almost vanishing. As long as they are in their respective circles, they can relax and play, sing, dance, or run. HUA Chien-Chiang uses these images of people and different circles to ridicule the relationships between people in society.
