HSU Chia-Wei’s work SH-SY5Y is a plan for the collaboration of medicine and science laboratories in 2012. The work is named “SH-SY5Y” based on a brain tumor cell, which is one of the most dangerous cancer cells currently. The “SH-SY5Y” cancer cells in the work come from a four-year-old girl 40 years ago. Although cancer cells are known as “diseases”, these cells are also organisms that can grow in petri dishes. In the cell production and marketing center, they are "products” priced at $560 including shipping. The shooting scene in the film is in a remote minimally invasive surgery laboratory, and the doctor can operate the surgery remotely by simply looking at the screen. HSU Chia-Wei uses animation to reveal the complex structural relationships between biotechnology, medicine and businesses behind the health system.
