CHUANG Tsung-Hsun’s creation encompasses a serious social observation under the seemingly simple and happy pictures with a comic-style expression and relaxing tonality. The work Rehearsal continues to play out familiar scenes. The people and facilities in the scene exist as actors and models. The characters in the painting are carrying out various daily activities. Some are climbing the facilities in the park; some are rowing swan boats in the pool, while some are carrying out temple marches and traditional festivals. The monochrome background image replaces and deletes the space-time background and context. The time seems to freeze, forming a vacuumed scene, which is both a spectacle and a daily routine in repeats.
