CHUANG Tsung-Hsun’s “Landscape construction-Luncheon on the Grass” replaced the 19th century scenery with a modern setting to create an anachronistic landscape. He analyzed images that western art literates are familiar with and inserted stereotypical images to create people and settings with the size of architectural miniatures, offering not just a personal microscopic view, but a figurative visual display that starts from minute details in an attempt to observe the greater picture. After visiting a number of scenes and analyzing multiple image data, CHUANG Tsung-Hsun acquired an understanding of modern landscaping which turned out to be a manifestation of cultural colonization to some degree.
