WU Ming-Sheng conveys the emotion and excitement when faced with the nature by stone carvings. The work Jingzhe (Spring Goddess) utilizes black granite with a sleek arc as the bottom structure, depicting an inclusive, soft yet firm image. Spring is the season of life's awakening. When spring comes, the spring thunder roars and everything begins to regain its vitality. In the work, a pointed cone-shaped structure cuts through the smooth surface, much like the earth receiving the first drop of rain when the spring rain falls. The oscillating lines of the stone create a three-dimensional change in light and dark, showing the rhythm of the undulations. WU Ming-Sheng attempts to convey the spirituality of spring with the language of sculpture, connecting nature and the human heart.
