YEN Yu-Ting uses traditional glue painting to showcase the absurdity of modern social issues and phenomena. Nudist Camp uses artificial urban features such as parks, building advertisements, and transformer boxes as the main theme, turning them into landscaping features shown in the composition. The audience is given a bird-eye view of the scene. Characters are depicted as miniature forms, using a multiple narrative approach on a single canvas to tell different stories. These stories appear unrelated to each other but serve as a condensed view of Taiwanese culture and regions. YEN Yu-Ting uses the narrative approach of traditional landscape ink painting in attempts to show different ways of observation that aim at revitalizing people’s numb senses and question the various absurd phenomena in daily life.
