HUANG Hsiao-Yen uses abstract painting as a channel of creative expression, generating works that convey a philosophical review on the fleeting nature of life, and uses poetic color tones and composition to provide the audience with a boundless space for fantasies. “Normandy” uses coffee colors of different tones to create a neutral, stable, and settled atmosphere. Irregular ellipses of different thicknesses are scattered freely across the canvas, corresponding to straight vertical or horizontal lines, while the spontaneous brushstrokes and dots provide a light-hearted and enjoyable visual experience. HUANG Hsiao-Yen’s works combine the emotions of joy and sorrow. Her works reflect inner feelings and serve as a manifestation of her reflections on the different stages of life.
