HUANG Shih-Tuan was born during the Kinmen August 23 artillery battle, leading him to adopt the memories and emotional ties to his hometown as his creative theme. Guard is based upon the form of cat. A graduating shade of blue and black grounds creates a composition that represents vigilance from dawn to dusk. The lines portray an eastern, totemic symbol for creating a mythological atmosphere. HUANG Shih-Tuan uses both shapes, color, brilliance, changes in brightness, and lines to construct an imaginative space. His works integrate modern and eastern elements to provide a colorful composition that convey lifestyle experiences of different times.
