WANG Po-Yen’s The Voyage (In the End: The Beginning) is a visualized poem that uses a symbolic and metaphorical approach to lead viewers along a journey that supersedes time and space. As the video continues playing, the viewer is led through a constant revolution of death and life where graphical elements composed of floral petals form different stages of birth, growth, senescence, and finally death. WANG Po-Yen uses interaction between the binary elements of Yin and Yang, construction and deconstruction, and linear and cyclical paths so that viewers could arrive at an interpretation of eternal life from a new perspective: the end of death is the start of a new life.
