LUO Chia-Hui’s creations portray her inner sensitivities and emotions. Wave is a composition of color patches with different textures interweaving and overlapping each other. Some color patches are entirely black, while others are portrayed using subsumed textures and brushstrokes. The interweaving patches form a condensed cluster of emotions and memories. The crowds in the artwork are retreating, leaving only a young girl standing in the wind. The reflection in the pond appears like a forest swaying in the wind and hair undulating in the breeze. LUO Chia-Hui uses interweaving patches of virtual and real symbols to commit various emotions intertwining within the mind, providing a place where the soul and spirit can settle themselves.
