YANG Ting-Chien’s panel art is a subsumed investigation of the relationships between man-made objects and natural settings. Formula Down shows a wooden desk against a blank background. A skyscraper, hill, tree, and cars of mismatched proportions are placed on this desk. The car drove forward and knocked down the tree. What happens next is up to our imagination. The car may continue to go forward, drive around the mountain and crash into the building, or be stopped in its tracks after crashing into the mountain. YANG Ting-Chien uses common elements portrayed in a surreal format to entice us to think about various scenarios.
