LIANG Yi-Fen’s works integrate eastern and western art styles and are inspired by elements of Taiwanese folk culture, featuring both modernist and primal. Black Beauty 15 illustrates various forms of soft feminine beauty. Wallpaper with minimalist lines is used as the background against which a woman is shown reclining on a French chair upon which lies a sleeping cat similarly depicted in a minimalist form. The woman is portrayed entirely in black with white outlines, while her brilliant yellow clothes complement her curvaceous form. LIANG Yi-Fen’s works are created using unique forms, colors, and lines to provide viewers with a simple, passionate, serene, and unfettered sensation.
