WANG Gon-Jer used in-depth observations of natural landscapes to generate an interesting and natural dialog and to convey inner emotions. Autumn Light 15-3 is an illustration of foxtail grasses growing along the lakeside and swaying with the wind. The form of the plants were integrated with the serene lake surface in the farview to create a balanced and rhythmic composition that is entirely depicted in subsumed and dark grayish-green colors. Boundaries between figurative and abstract visuals were blurred, allowing the artist to condense the cooling atmosphere of autumn between the physical and virtual worlds. The resulting artwork captures the poetic rhythms hidden within nature as the artist pursues spiritual tranquility and enlightenment.
