HSIEH Chen-Yuan treats creation as a media to express innermost desires, allowing the artist to fulfill the deepest desires of detachment and liberation from the crowd. Releasing My Soul adopts a three-dimensional perspective to create a surreal scenery. Three-dimensional tower blocks rise from the ground surface, viewed through an upward-looking perspective. The floating spheres resemble planets in space, forming a strange and alien science fiction scene with the tall tower blocks. Human images in outlandish poses imposed upon the artwork are the projections of the artist himself, trying to observe the virtual and superficial nature of the entire world.
