作品賞析
LEE Yu-Yuan has lost family and friends to disastrous earthquakes, and transformed his sorrow into creative energies as a means to commemorate the lost ones while seeking spiritual solace. Powerful lines and composition were employed to convey the deepest feelings and memories when faced with the destructive forces of nature. Kanadon is named after an indigenous settlement in Jinlun Community in Taitung. The picture is composed of bold, direct, and chaotic strokes that rapidly crisscross the canvas to symbolize the massive upheavals brought by the earthquake. Green, gray, and black lines mix and collide, representing calamitous forces that laid waste to the mountains and forests.
