Artist LEE Yu-Yuan’s inspiration of creation comes from people from all corners in Taiwan. From prosperous areas to mountain forests, from cities to tribes, the artist cherishes each encounter and integrates individuals with various moods into the natural landscape representing the vicissitudes of life. At the same time, he makes sure his existence again. In his work Glimpse, a wanderer coming from certain city walks in the burning sun in June. He wears dirty pants without being washed for a long time and walks with bare feet in the noisy traffic. Step by step, he walks through his seemingly frustrated and poor life. The artist presents the agony beyond words he sees in Taiwan in paintings through his observation and imagination. He expresses the defects of modern life with strong humanist concerns.
