HO Yao-Chih is a print artist using both print art and photographic concepts to relay his views of the actual world. HO Yao-Chih’s Reading Time-23/Architectural History is a horizontal composition that dissects the presentation into three equal portions. Brick facings, short walls and fences, and asphalt road surfaces form the background, center, and foreground respectively. Background brick facings were composed of red colored bricks interlayered with gray mortar. The short wall in the center is covered in posters of waves that form a dynamic interaction with the straight lines of the fences. The gray asphalt road surface in the foreground serves as the serene basal tone. HO Yao-Chih hopes to contrast Victorian era brick walls against modern city roads, guiding the viewers through the different moments of British history.
