JHANG Jhen-Rong has always been attracted by natural landscapes filled with biological energy in order to reflect her innermost desires. They Are in the Swamp by JHANG Jhen-Rong recreates a dream-like wetland witnessed by the artist during an afternoon road trip with her family. A green colored base was employed, decorated with green spots of different shades that portray the shimmering and refractive ripples on the water surface. Three blue colored islands have been included, one of which is covered by a cluster of vegetation. JHANG Jhen-Rong’s works are characterized by the limited number of artistic décor. She has taken the direct, simplistic, and ephemeral experiences of viewing natural sceneries and manifested them into a subtle and wonderful environment presented upon the canvas.
