YANG Siang-Jen has been studying print painting for many years that focus on creating etchings. Recently, he has turned towrads experimental sketches that combine simple sketching techniques and abstract forms to record observations of various natural objects and matter, often portraying small particles and parts. YANG Siang-Jen believes that materials itself has a diverse range of interpretability that far exceeds the individual elements that compose them, conferring them with various meanings. Hence, the artist became interested in the existence and transformation processes that different materials undergo, making use of art and sketches to record these often overlooked scenes. Study of Grass 02 employs brush strokes drawn at regular intervals and densities to create a grassy plain with a simple yet poetic beauty.
