SU Chih-Wei is skilled in using woodcut painting to portray Taiwan’s folk customs and traditional festivals. Passing the Glorious Heritage shows temple architecture and Vespa scooters that represented Taiwanese folk traditions. Electric-Techno Neon Gods (Techno Santaizi), Pili hand puppet show, and Taipei 101 also depicts an emerging culture of Taiwan’s future generation. The composition depicts a boy wearing the New York Yankees jersey of WANG Chien-Ming and carrying a SU Huanzhen hand puppet, who symbolizes a combination of old heritage and new cultural elements that extols the stars of the new Taiwanese generation. Changes in outline thicknesses and bright colors were employed by SU Chih-Wei to successfully create an artwork that highlights the exclusive cultural elements of Taiwan.
