CHANG Yu-Hsin has lived in France, and used sculpting, photography, and large installation artworks to present the organic texture of inorganic items. Dust, carbon powder, and clay have been employed in her sculptures and photography to generate works that are filled with vitality. In « Human。Landscape » - Alteration n°4, CHANG Yu-Hsin made a close up shot of the human form, in which black powdery materials are contrasted against the white skin. Afar, the picture appears like a desolate mountain-scape. Viewing it up close, however, reveals the delicate ridges and valleys of the skin. CHANG Yu-Hsin has made use of her photographic skills to compare between the similarities of majestic landscapes and microscopic appearances of our skin, allowing the viewer to alternate and transform their visual experiences of the landscape and their physical body.
