CHI Hui-Min is extremely focused upon photography, often studying and contemplating about objects and life through camera lenses. The Texture Chapped series is composed of 5 black and white images that capture and record the texture of various plants, wood, and tone. These images include close-ups to the appearance of intertwining roots to represent the mark of time. To CHI Hui-Min, artists from ancient times used brush and ink to display the various forms of flowers, grasses, trees, and stone. The process of painting allowed them to connect their subjects with their inner self. Thus, the photographer has attempted to capture every stone, blade of grass, and tree as a token of respect to these ancient artists, gaining revelations about the harmony of the universe from the microcosms of our natural world.
