CHEN Fei-Hao is a photographer and multimedia art creator. His Memories of Landscape:Scene of THSR＃Taipei-Taoyuan captures landscapes flying past the windows of a high speed rail train. The work depicts how physical cognition of different places transforms as our transportation achieves ever higher velocities. CHEN Fei-Hao first recorded landscapes flying past the window and then compressed them to the same space and time. To CHEN Fei-Hao, public transport has become the rule by which we orient ourselves. Such transportation has allowed us to move to far-flung places within a few short hours. Images streaming past the windows have now become the standard concept around which memories of cities are constructed.
