作品賞析
Artist HSU Chin-Yen is good at expanding the fixed image of ink art through the expressions of elaborate-style painting, transfer printing, and collage. In his work Acrophobia, HSU Chin-Yen composes the painting with wood chairs of elementary school students for expressing his mental emotion. In the image, chairs are accumulated upward. The higher the chairs are piled up, the more aslant each chair becomes. The chair on the top is painted blue-green, and there is a flower in bud with a circular yellow foundation on the chair. The almost-dropping chair and the lonely flower on the top form the surreal composition and make the image look like a dream. It is a space full of imagination. The artist applies the piling up chairs to the symbolization of love as the climbing. We keep climbing upwards and look forward to the happiness on the top. However, we ignore the situation under the beautiful things is as dangerous as these almost-dropping chairs.
