Dream Eroder

Artist CHEN Pei-Xin’s painting Dream Eroder is composed of nine images of different size. Moving her brush back and forth across the canvas, she paints gorgeous vortex-like images in black. This piece was inspired by whirlpool-like shapes she saw in a dream. She believes these vortices symbolize the plight of survival in the real world, constantly eroding our dreams. Besides expressing her feelings in the creative process, Chen also releases repressed emotions, while guiding us toward resolving our own feelings in this convoluted, dreamlike painting.
