As an artist LIN Chin-Hung cuts across the fields of graphic design, fashion design and fine art. He especially excels at illustration, using vivid colors and a strong visual sense to express the subtle feelings encountered in everyday life. Smoky depicts the bust of a giant in what seems to be an abandoned ruin. Because of the heat, the body glows red and emits green smoke. He remains there, eyes tightly closed and completely still, as if suppressing a surging, inner rage. The artist aptly communicates people’s feelings with this picture so full of allegory. With his art, the artist sooths the negative feelings encountered in everyday life, while with this daily, shared experience, he creates a resonance with the viewer.
