Penglai Fairy Mountain TV Station, with its peculiar business model of broadcasting religious programs in the morning and titillating shows late at night, became a core part of many people’s teenage memories. Artist Ni Jui-Hung conducted in-depth field research on this legendary station and created numerous works based on this subject. In Untitled, the entire background consists of a red brick-patterned wallpaper on which several punning patriotic yet erotic phrases appear. In the foreground, a group of sexy women, depicted in various postures and revealing clothes. Ni Jui-Hung believes that these “cheap, erotic, yet seemingly standard-conforming” television programs were just there to satisfy all men’s erotic fantasies. She captured clips of the sexy women showing off their youthful bodies with empty expressions on their faces, and with her brush she recreated the absurd scenes to commemorate those girls in the past who survived in the male-dominated film and television industry and supported the television industry with their youth.
