作品賞析
The “ The Forest” series is a long-term creative project of artist Huang Lan-Ya, which is constantly evolving based on the concepts of “natural entities and artificial regeneration.” She would pick up branches that had been chopped off and discarded in the city, or find branches that had been broken by natural disasters or man-made disasters in the mountains and forests, and then use thermoplastic resin and acrylic beads to cover them with a new coat, creating “new kinds of life.” In this work, the bulbous shapes at the tips of the thick yellow-green branches are like growing buds, showing a lot of vitality. Huang Lan-Ya is fascinated by the uncontrolled organic properties of thermoplastic resin. The shape of this work derives from the “fractal” structure of trees, beginning from the time they germinate. The new form of life, a mix of natural and manmade things, is also a “living monument” paying tribute to the life that once struggled in nature.
