作品賞析
This work comes from artist Chen Yen-Po’s “Taxis Series.” He used swimming, which he loves, as the inspiration to create a post-apocalyptic world. In the picture, two giant squids and two fighter planes are engaged in a turf war, and the bubbles emitted by the plants symbolize the underwater world. Chen Yen-Po uses bright, intense colors to show strongly lit images that create a pleasant atmosphere completely at odds from what is described in traditional doomsday scenarios. He also strengthens the concept of “taxis toward light” by using creatures that move toward the light source. In addition, the picture is full of common supplies such as triangular cones or swimming rings, but they appear in unusual ways, suggesting that this new world follows a different logic. The swimming pool seems “waterless,” but this highlights the duality of reality and virtuality in a “world full of water,” adding a sense of conflict.
