作品賞析
The artist Wu Hsuan-Hui has been concerned about the relationship between nature and life for a long time, and her creations also deal with Eastern and Western philosophical issues. In this work, she depicts her memory of overlooking Mount Titlis in Switzerland from a cable-car with a 360-degree view. She uses the texture strokes techniques, often used in traditional ink painting to express three-dimensionality and texture, to present a magnificent scene with an extremely calm atmosphere. The sense of rhythm with which she wielded the brush records the moment when she looked over the mountain from high altitude. The meandering lines in the picture show ski tracks, while the circles represent the 360-degree view from the cable car. The left-right color flip between the two halves of the painting seem to provide yet more perspectives or personal responses to the scenery. When memories constantly flow between reality and fantasy, their uncertain, non-repeating qualities resemble flashes of inspiration as the artist puts brush to paper, at which point they are made eternal in the blink of an eye.
