作品賞析
The artist Fu Ya-Wen’s creations focus on exploring the relationship between the body and space, and explore the relationship between the individual and the environment from a critical perspective. Her work Metamorphose combines space installation and live performance. Fu Ya-Wen wears a 3D-printed hand palm, and another performer wears a big fist, symbolizing a character with dominance and control over the environment. With their “open palms” and “clenched fists” costumes, they do a half-arranged, half-improvised performance in a space where fists of different sizes are suspended. Some of these fists are deformed. In the performance, an open palm appears to be searching for a certain goal. On the surface of this object there are traces left from the interaction of performance—these symbolize its trajectory as it chased the goal. Through her performances, Fu Ya-Wen shows her observations and thoughts on individuals’ dynamic relationship with society through various body collisions and changes in appearance.
